Emergencies

The national emergency number in Mexico is 911, and it works 24 hours.

For anything that is not an emergency — you feel ill, you need a doctor, a pharmacy, a dentist — message us first. There are private clinics and hospitals in central Puerto Escondido and we will point you at the right one and help with the language.

Tell us about a problem in the apartment as soon as it appears, however small. Almost everything is easy to fix the same day and awkward to fix after you have left.

At night

The roads out here have little or no street lighting. Take a taxi at night even for a short distance, and don't walk the beach after dark — that advice is given for the town beaches and it applies with more reason on an empty one.

Keep a phone flashlight handy for the walk from a car to the door.
